MALA
A mala, meaning garland in Sanskrit, evokes a sense of beginning, continuing and completion. This three-form (trimurti) quality allows us to embody, in practice, the rhythmic cycles ever present in the natural universe: creation (srishti), sustaining (sthiti) and destruction (samhara).
108 SIGNIFICANCE
The Vedic culture viewed 108 as a number of the wholeness of existence. In numerology, 108 equals 9, which symbolizes universal love, eternity and awakening. Ayurveda says there are 108 sacred points on the body and in astronomy, the distance between the Sun and Earth is roughly 108 times the Sun’s diameter.
HOW TO USE
You can simply wear it around your neck and let the magic flows. Alternatively hold your mala in one hand and starting with the guru bead start moving your fingers along each bead and repeating your mantra aloud or silently up till you reach all the 108 beads.
